Young people need to wise up to the dangers of excessive drinking

Ten to 20 years ago the way we met and spent time together was very different.

Back then we would go to the pub or a nightclub to hang out with our friends. The home phone was stuck to the wall and to talk to anyone you’d be sitting in the middle of your house with your family nearby listening to your every word. So pubs and clubs became our default meeting places, our street corner oasis where we could hang out, listen to music, have a dance and drink — sometimes a little too much — with friends. How things have changed.
