Abstract

Article 24: Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay” states the United Nations´ Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Leisure is an acknowledged source of well-being for working individuals, because it provides them with the opportunity to recover from work, build and maintain social relationships, and engage in activities of their own choice. Vacation as the longest, uninterrupted period of leisure time is a powerful weapon against work stress and a key ingredient for quality of life.
