Abstract

Dispute resolution values and skills can usefully and positively inform and support practice wisdom in the day-to-day discourse and decision-making activities of political life. This chapter argues that all politicians, elected and aspiring, should receive compulsory dispute resolution training to increase their practice wisdom and thus positively influence their engagement in politics through the development of a new leadership framework based on the skills and values that inform dispute resolution theory and practice.
