Abstract

Flags-of-convenience are tax-saving, transactional schemes, without many connection between vessel and flag-state at all. In this article, I explore some aspects about the oddly familiar-sounding business of ship registries and, at times, reconcile them with the phenomenon of Citizenship by Investment ('CBI').
