Abstract
This paper considers whether it might be possible to constitutionally challenge Australia's system of compulsory voting. It explains it what sense voting is 'compulsory', before considering arguments in favour of and against it being constitutionally valid. Arguably, forcing a person to vote infringes their implied freedom of political communication.
