Abstract

Healthcare has become an increasingly important area of administrative activity and analysis.
This has happened naturally over time as costs associated with healthcare have increased
along with demand for healthcare services (Aspalter, Pribadi and Gauld, 2017; Blank, Burau
and Kuhlmann, 2018; Kuhlmann et al., 2015). The COVID-19 pandemic has also brought
healthcare into sharp focus (Legido-Quigley et al., 2020).
