Abstract

In Reply It is well known that nonadherence to therapies in chronic diseases is associated with increased morbidity, mortality, and health care costs.1 Poor adherence is known to result from an interplay of multiple factors related to patient, therapy, and health care system.2 Key factors affecting adherence include motivation, forgetfulness, adverse effects, cost of therapy, complexity of regimen, and patient beliefs about disease or therapy.
