Abstract

The Castan Centre for Human Rights Law welcomes the Queensland Government’s commitment to
review legislation regulating the registration of births deaths and marriages, in light of contemporary
social norms conce1rning family formation and gender identity. This submission responds to the first
in an anticipated series of discussion papers issued by the Queensland Department of Justice and
Attorney General.
