Abstract

Survey question 1 - The development and implementation of an evidence-based community
education campaign for responsible ownership is a high priority as a key primary prevention strategy. The primary objective of the proposed amendments to the current legislation is community safety. As the Strong Dog Laws: Safer Communities document (‘Discussion Paper’) recognises this objective can only be achieved through the implementation of various, complementary, regulatory processes and instruments, including education and statutory intervention.
