Reviewing the Reviewers

Abstract

This article reflects on the authors' experience with the review process in academia. It suggests that, while in many cases the treatment of submitted material was professional and respectful, in other cases reviewers did not make helpful comments, and may have been motivated by disagreement with the views expressed in the article, or misunderstanding of arguments made.
