As athletes face not only the end of their careers but also the loss of identity for the individual. While existing literature recognises the psychological impact of career-ending injuries, it primarily highlights physical rehabilitation and return to sport, leaving a notable gap in trauma-informed care (TIC) tailored to athletes' trauma recovery needs.
