Abstract

One of my more unexpected, though rather lovely, life experiences was to be interviewed in 2018 by the legendary Jenni Murray on the BBC’s Woman’s Hour
about #EndPJparalysis and the risks of deconditioning. Towards the end of the interview, she asked me ‘What difference does the activity (of mobilisation) make in
the long term, particularly if you’re an elderly person’. My spontaneous reply was ‘It could be the difference between going home and going to a care home’ (you
can listen to the clip here https://bbc.in/3PFRZ1f).
