Abstract

In this article, I examine the global success of Pokémon Go as more than a mobile game, highlighting its significance as a case study in gamification, augmented reality (AR), and emerging AI-driven technologies. Drawing on its integration of real-world locations and interactive storytelling, I explore how the platform exemplifies the potential for immersive experiences to support public engagement, education, and technological innovation. I argue that Pokémon Go represents a shift in how audiences interact with complex digital systems and that this shift underscores the need for interdisciplinary approaches in education and research. The article advocates for stronger collaboration between academia and industry to foster ethical, critical, and creative responses to rapidly evolving digital ecosystems.
