Abstract
Philip H. Friedman, Ph.D., a licensed clinical psychologist with over 50 years of experience as a scientist-practitioner, influenced many people in his life, both professionally and personally. He was intelligent, innovative, and ahead of his time. Phil was constantly seeking to improve the treatment he provided to his clients by developing and adopting new approaches to therapy and measurement tools for clinical practice – through training himself and others, and continually being involved in research. Much of his clinical work was focused on forgiveness, and was very influenced by A Course in Miracles, pressure points, energy healing, and tapping techniques. Phil was invited to share his clinical wisdom regarding spirituality and psychotherapy within the pages of this book. Unfortunately, he was unable to complete his chapter. Instead, we thought it appropriate to replace what would have been Phil’s chapter with a tribute to him written by a few of his friends and colleagues.
