Abstract
This chapter reviews the concept of organizational structure, identifies its basic tenets,
provides examples of the unique features of the design of sport organizations, and summarizes the research findings on organizational structure in sport. The chapter presents a summary of principles for managing organizational structure within various types and levels of sport organizations and articulates current developments in the use of contemporary organizational structures to drive performance in sport organizations.
