Abstract

Justin Kurzel's controversial new film about the Port Arthur mass shooter has been described as unrateable - so should you go and see it? Is there value in uncomfortable cinema? Or, no matter how unsympathetic the portrayal, is it just giving the mass shooter the notoriety he craved - and could it even inspire another gunman?

Listen as Nadia hosts a thoughtful, insightful and respectful panel discussion on the ethics of making Nitram with Dr Glynn Greensmith, a journalism lecturer at Curtin University whose PhD was on mass shootings, and Dr Alison Taylor, a senior teaching fellow at Bond University who teaches courses in film studies and ethics.
