Abstract
In 2022, the National Monitoring Study of Student Achievement (NMSSA) assessed achievement in the health and physical education (HPE) learning area of the New Zealand Curriculum. Two assessments were used: one focussed on critical thinking in health and physical education and the other on learning through movement.
