Abstract

[Extract] Since the 1980’s Australian and international infection controldirectives have recommended that nurses and all health care workers (HCWs) in any healthcare setting including primary and community care settings routinely use disposable gloves as a protective barrier to prevent inadvertent exposure to blood and body fluids (National Health and Medical Research Council 2010; Loveday, Lynam et al 2014).
