Abstract
'Governance' is one of the ubiquitous concepts of the age. Visitors from an alien planet might be forgiven, however, for noticing discrepancies between the high levels of attention given to the concept of governance, on one hand, and the widespread deviations from, undermining of or sheer disregard for principles of good governance, on the other. This chapter provides some preliminary observations on matters of governance in different contexts in the light of ideas and ideals of justice.
