Abstract
Delivery of health care in any country is complicated by a variety of circumstances owing to characteristic organisation of health care. Information is central to health care delivery, meaning information and communications technology (ICT) offer considerable promise. Yet there are several barriers to successful health care ICT deployment. This article outlines the promises and challenges facing both governments and health service providers.
