    Abstract

What happens when library staff across the region spend a week developing cloud apps? You get lots of networking, increased Alma knowledge, improved tech skills, and three fabulous improvements to the Alma experience. In March of this year, ANZREG, in partnership with Ex Libris, developed and ran a week-long hackathon. Four cross-institutional teams made up of a mix of everyday Alma users, developers, tech dabblers, and user experience experts came together to develop an Alma cloud app using the Cloud Apps framework.
At the end of the week, three popular Apps - Delete Your Sets, Print Slip, and Trove Search - had been made live, and every participant had a much greater understanding of Alma, the tech development process, and the possibilities offered by Cloud Apps.
Learn about what we did as an International User Group Committee ANZREG to make this event a success, what we’d do differently next time, using the Cloud Apps framework, and why you should consider taking part in a similar event.
