Abstract
This paper considers current issues relating to freedom of speech in current times, including the banning of the swastika. Though most associate that symbol with Naziism, which is obviously abhorrent, and symbol has a complex history and is also associated with religion. The message intended to be sent when someone displays a swastika is not known, making bans somewhat problematic. It also provides a critique of critical race theory.
