Abstract

Highlights:
Psychological well-being of a Chinese LGBT group at an iconic LGBT event was studied.

Multiple qualitative methods were adopted.

PERMA (Positive emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Achievement) model was used to analyze well-being.

Distinctions of perceptions of PERMA elements among paraders, volunteers and organizers were identified.

A role-based, event specific PERMA model was developed.
