Abstract
The shutdown of Australia's 3G network highlights significant challenges in technology adoption, particularly for rural and regional communities. This transition highlights broader concerns about the sustainability of perpetual technological advancements, which often exacerbate socioeconomic disparities and contribute to electronic waste. Despite efforts by telcos to mitigate these impacts, the rapid pace of technological change raises critical questions about accessibility, equity, and the long-term implications for vulnerable populations. This analysis calls for a more sustainable and inclusive approach to technological progression, ensuring that all Australians benefit from advancements regardless of their economic status or geographic location.
