Abstract

The authors report about a research in progress study regarding quality in an IT educational program. The College of Information Technology at Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates has initiated a comprehensive and rigorous quality study. Their goal is to understand quality related problems and opportunities in order to get to the next level. The researchers are using the Delphi method with six different samples of stakeholders. The results are coded into the preexisting Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award Model which is based on the Baldrige National Quality Program. While this research is still in process, we are uncovering opportunities for improvement and are discovering that the Delphi method is suitable for a large heterogeneous sample. Preliminary results indicate that improvements can be made to the program, course delivery and its structure.
