Abstract
This workshop delves into the concept of critical thinking and its significance in today's media-driven world. Contrary to popular belief, critical thinking does not equate to negativity; rather, it emphasises the need for meticulous interpretation and evaluation of information to arrive at well-informed conclusions. The workshop sheds light on prevalent pitfalls and cognitive biases that impede careful thinking, while offering strategies to overcome them. Participants engage in hands-on activities, such as playing Rocket League and participating in critical dialogues, to experience how structured conversations can enhance reasoning and decision-making skills. Attendees practice asking crucial questions, challenging assumptions, and exploring alternative options. By employing learned problem-solving abilities and decision-making processes, participants critically reflect on these options through guided discussions and evaluate decisions beyond their mere outcomes.
