Abstract
This presentation examines the intersection between concussion rules and player behaviour in professional rugby union. By focussing on the elite level in the full bodily contact sport of rugby union, this presentation identifies a range of social, economic and normative motives that could influence compliance with concussion rules established by the sport’s governing body to minimise harm.
