N2 - Spatial Analysis is widely used in agricultural field trials, geostatistics (mining application), epidemiology, etc., besides social and medical sciences. There are quite a few advanced books on spatial statistics, but as such, there is no textbook which can be used in teaching. Renowned Professor Kent and Professor Mardia have fulfilled this void, and this book can be recommended as a textbook. The statistical models and methods used in the spatial analysis are very nicely explained. The book will also be valuable for statisticians and other professionals who use spatial analysis as it expertly blends theory with applications, and there are quite a few worked examples and exercises are given at the end of each chapter. The data sets used in the book are available from a public repository, and a geoR package has been used.
