Abstract
A festive occasion such as this calls for a festive topic. Unfortunately, law is not
always perceived as being a particularly festive topic. Rather law is typically an
appropriately serious topic. However, what if we can combine something festive – such as beer – with the serious topic of law, what do we then get? The answer is, of course, ‘Beer Law’; an important topic with long history, yet largely unexplored. This contribution, written in honour of our eminent and much-liked colleague, Professor Dr Andreas Wiebe, explores the topic of beer law; first by giving a (very) brief introduction to the topic, and then by discussing, in some detail, a case highlighting some important aspects of beer law.
