Abstract

Introduction: The Malaysian Government has organized a number of initiatives and programs to address key issues related to housing provision. These relate to affordability, adequate supply, quality and sustainable development. All these aspects need to be addressed during the housing development process. Within the government’s framework, a number of key trusts and important strategies have emphasised sustainability principles to improve the basis of existing housing provision not only to reduce the impacts of environment degradation but to achieve more balanced and affordable developments.
