Abstract

Sir—Salom and colleagues 1 have raised worthwhile points in response to our explorative study. Our work was not a systematic review, but an exploration of researchers’ perceptions of what can be done to increase the amount of methodologically strong published work in the field. We accept that the sample of researchers invited to complete our survey did not capture the entire population of researchers active in the field, but it does provide the views of individuals who have made a contribution to published work in the area.
