How is smooth muscle different to skeletal muscle contraction? What mechanisms assist in smooth muscle contraction? What is calmodulin?
This short and concise video aims to demonstrate the influence of calcium in smooth muscle contraction, how it regulates calmodulin and what happens in when your involuntary muscles contract. Actin and Myosin cross-bridge cycling is also explained. Overall, this forms the final stages of the process called excitation-contraction coupling.
