Understanding the heterogeneity of macrophages in age-related macular degeneration (AMD)

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common eye disease that causes vision loss in older adults, and there is currently no effective treatment for its most common form. This project will explore how the body’s immune cells, particularly macrophages, contribute to damage in the retina, the part of the eye responsible for our vision. It will focus on identifying different types of macrophages and understanding how they trigger inflammation and cell damage in the retina.
