Research interests

My doctoral research was completed in 2023 and focused on understanding the critical political economy of social media and how governments worldwide engage the companies behind the platforms. This work synthesised my interests in how politics, economics, and technology converge within a society.

As an extension of my doctoral research, I am interested in understanding how human uses of technologies impact and alter the political process - and where innovations can be leveraged to promote democracy. The contemporary discourse on technology focuses on its power to disrupt; I am interested in its use to construct a collaborative, inclusive and democratic future.
