Personal profile

Research interests

Rowan's research interests stem from his clinical experience as a Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist working across different clinical areas within both Private and Public healthcare sectors in Australia.  Whilst practicing as an Emergency Department Physiotherapist, Rowan identified a gap in the literature around optimal management of first-time patellar dislocations, a prevalent knee injury among children and adolescents that frequently leads to Emergency Department visits.

Motivated by this gap, Rowan has dedicated his research to exploring best-practice assessment and management strategies for patellar dislocations. His work also extends to broader Emergency Department care for musculoskeletal conditions and health services research. Rowan's research aims to enhance clinical decision-making, improve patient outcomes, and reduce the prevalence of re-dislocation through comprehensive and innovative assessment and management approaches
