Thesis title: Oral corticosteroids as an alternative treatment for acute otitis media in children.

For my PhD project on the use of alternative treatment for acute otitis media in children, we have conducted:

  • Cochrane review of systemic corticosteroids for acute otitis media in children: protocol (submitted the review on July 2017 and waiting for the feedback)
  • and a feasibility survey for a clinical trial testing corticosteroids for acute otitis media in children (manuscript preparation for publication; poster presentation at 19th International Symposium on Recent Advances in Otitis Media, 4-8 June 2017, Gold Coast)

I have been involved in designing several researches:

  • “the implementation of evidence-based practice among clinicians at Dr Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital“ (as principal investigator; funded by Universitas Indonesia)
  • “evidence-based medicine teaching in Indonesia” (as co-investigator; funded by Universitas Indonesia)
  • “stereotactic radiosurgery using gamma knife compared to linier accelerator in the treatment of brain tumor: hospital-based health techonology assessment” (as co-investigator; funded by Dr cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital)
  • “modern dressings and skin grafting in the management of diabetic foot ulcers: hospital-based health technology assessment” (as co-investigator; funded by Dr cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital)
  • “the proportion of matched frequency of tinnitus pitch matching with pure tone audiometry and distortion product otoacoustic emission (DPOAE): the study in subjective tinnitus patients” (as principal investigator - thesis for otolaryngology fellowship).

I also have several experiences as a field coordinator in a multicentre RCT “effect of a nutritional approach in combination with cognitive stimulation on child cognitive abilities” (as manager of research sites, patient recruiter; funded by Nestle Ltd.) and a multi-cities research “molecular epidemiology of S. pneumonia in Indonesian pilgrims” (as research site manager and consultant for nasopharyngeal swab; funded by Pfizer).
