Research interests

My research interests are in the broad areas of ethical consumption, consumer social responsibility, and marketing/advertising ethics. I am interested in examining the role of moral emotions, culture/values, and religiosity/spirituality in these domains. I have published several articles on consumer ethics in the Journal of Business Ethics. I have also published in the European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Consumer Affairs, Journal of Macromarketing, and Marketing Letters.

Statement for HDR students

I am interested in supervising students that have research interests in ethical consumption and marketing/advertising ethics.

A list of possible (but not exhaustive) topics includes:

  • Consumers' perceptions of and willingness to purchase 'fair trade' products
  • Factors that influence consumers to engage in pro-social activities
  • Antecedents of anti-consumption values
  • 'Green' marketing
  • Consumer social responsibility
