Research interests
Assistant Professor Ned Wales is an internationally recognised and nationally awarded academic with extensive career in private consultancy and the public sector. He has expertise in land use management, climate change adaption, and quantitive research projects. Ned's collaberation with private industry and government agencies has long been focused on creating sustainable communities, moving toward a circular economy and resource management. Ned's research has been broadly published in sustainable construction practices, resiliant urban communities and decarbonisation of our economic systems.
Ned holds an appointed positoin to the New South Wales Department of Planning and Envrionment as a memeber of the Joint Regional Planning Panel, where he undertakes development application determinations for projects valued over $30,000,000. He also runs a urban planning consultancy, undertaing funded research with government and NGO's.
