Personal profile
Research interests
My teaching and research interests have in the past been across a range of areas in applied linguistics, including factors that influence the L2 self and motivation, individual differences in second language acquisition, and the assessment of qualitative data-collection tools.
Specifically my research has explored the contextual factors that influence the L2 self that lead to changes in L2 motivation and learning behaviours.
Moving forward, my research interests lie in the role of self theory for university students and the influence this can have on motivation, study goals and learning behaviours, and student well-being and learning outcomes.
