Research interests

Megan is a passionate researcher and educator with over 20 years' experience in the education sector, including as an educational researcher, a lecturer in Initial Teacher Education (ITE), and in schools as a Head of Department and classroom teacher. Her research has focused on pedagogy, student engagement and belonging, specifically, how teachers can ameliorate students’ behavioural, emotional and cognitive engagement in the classroom (PhD), and factors that support students to continue in their studies at university (belonging, enjoyment, and motivation). Current projects explore the importance of belonging for faculty, postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates. Her research aims to develop a deeper understanding of complex human experience.
