Research interests

I am currently a co-investigator for the following research projects:

  • Design of an effective pre-admission assessment and discharge clinics' awarded $309k by the Heath Care Fund in 2013-2016 to Macquarie University Hospital.
  • The role of emotion in anaesthetic decision making.' Awarded $55k by ANZCA in 2014 - 2016.

My previous research has been in collaboration with sports psychologists at Sheffield Hallam University looking at Educational and Sports Psychology techniques to improve medical student exam performance.

I have continued research with organisational psychologists at Macquarie University looking at emotion and resilience in anaesthetists.

My other research interests are in patient safety, clinical simulation and leadership education.

I have supervised to completion a PhD student who is researching educational methodology and assessment for ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia.
