Research interests

Kate Mueller is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), researcher and educator. Kate's research is across the broad theme of education and is underpinned by a person-centred approach. Her research is primarily focused on chronic disease management, group-based education, building research capacity and culture in allied health, developing cultural responsiveness through learner-centred educational opportunities, and recruitment and retention factors affecting health professionals.

Kate is experienced in a range of research methodologies including systematic reviews, qualitative studies, survey studies, and process evaluations. Kate is passionate about providing rewarding learning experiences to current and future health professionals and supporting allied health professionals to develop their research capacity, navigate the research evidence, enhance the delivery of effective value-based healthcare, and build a positive culture of research within organisations. 

Statement for HDR students

I welcome HDR students with various research interests including allied health student placements, interprofessional practice, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, cultural responsiveness, research capacity building, health professional education, malnutrition, group-based education, non-diet approaches, eating disorder prevention, and recruitment and retention factors affecting health professionals.
