Thesis title: Maintaining weight loss: a look at habits.
My interest in research started in my Masters degree when I had to complete a 6 month qualitative research study.
After working as a clinical dietitian for a number of years, I started to question why we did things the way we did and wonder if there was a better way. This led me to commence my PhD at the Center for Research in Evidence Based Practice in 2014, with my primary interest in habit-based interventions as a strategy for weight loss and weight loss maintenance. I’ve now published a narrative review on the topic and have successfully completed a randomised controlled trial, qualitative study and systematic review.
I am also completing a Cochrane systematic review on Exercise for overweight and obesity and enjoy other work as a research assistant at Bond University.
Primary research interests: habit-change, behaviour change, weight loss maintenance, randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews.
