Personal profile
Research interests
I am an academic researcher with a diverse background in education and a strong passion for fostering critical thinking in the classroom. With a Bachelor of Teaching from the State University of Campinas and a Master of TESOL from Griffith University, I am currently pursuing a PhD at the Faculty of Society & Design at Bond University.
Over the past decade, I have accumulated extensive teaching experience, primarily as a Portuguese and English language teacher. Currently, I am teaching Academic English at Bond University College.
My research interests are in understanding how to cultivate a critical thinking environment in the classroom. How can educators explore strategies that encourage students to think critically and actively transform their realities? Furthermore, I am also interested in the horizontal relationship between students and teachers, where both parties are actively engaged in the learning process. I am dedicated to developing strategies that foster this collaborative approach to education.
Currently, I am intrigued by the consequences of emerging technologies, such as generative AI, on critical thinking. My research aims to investigate how developing critical thinking skills impacts the integration of artificial intelligence in tertiary education, and what strategies institutions can employ to enhance critical thinking in AI-driven learning environments.
