Research interests

Dr Georgiades's research to date has focused on two related areas. The first is intellectual property, privacy, and technology. The second looks at the legal issues that arise within the context of emerging digital technologies. Her work has investigated the legal protection of personal images that are uploaded and shared on social networks in Australia. Her work is interdisciplinary which spans technology, social media, and broad intellectual property law as well as data privacy with a strong focus on end users. It also examines the effectiveness of the current legal protections that exists to protect personal images that are misused by third parties within digital technologies.
