Personal profile
Research interests
My research seeks to reduce the waste in research effort by improving the quality of published research reports, particularly in systematic reviews and randomised controlled trials.
Statement for HDR students
The three areas where I can assist HDR students are:
- Original projects investigating the waste in research effort caused by poor choice of research question, poor design, management and conduct of research, and problems in research reports that lead to sub-optimal dissemination of results.
- Study design (e.g. randomised controlled trials, cohort studies, surveys) and practical conduct (e.g. drug trial management, good clinical research practice guidelines, data management).
- Biostatistical input to projects in any area of health and medicine, including study design and analysis methods.
