PhD projects

I have broad interests and expertise in health professions education, communication skills teaching and clinical communication. I would be happy to discuss projects in any of these areas including professional identity formation, encouraging healthcare providers to discuss potentially sensitive topics with patients, teaching and assessment of communication skills in medical and health professional education. I am open to both qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Personal profile

Research interests

I am passionate about health professions education, healthcare communication, and patient centred communication approaches to promote behaviour change. I have brought these interests together in research focusing on behaviour change and health promotion at a population level, interprofessional education, and medical education. While my research and publication topics and methods are broad, they are connected by the common theme of working towards improving the health and healthcare experiences of individuals and communities through positive health behaviour and effective communication.
