How much ‘healthy life’ do you have left?

Press/Media: Public Engagement Activities

Description

It can be quite confronting. Key your age into the interactive graphs below and it will tell you how many more years you are expected to live – and not only that, but also how many of those will likely be in full health and, more concerningly, ill health.

Brought down to a single person, you, the conversation shifts. No longer are we patting ourselves on the back for living in a country with one of the highest life expectancies in the world.

Instead, more personal questions come to mind: “Is that all the time I really have left in full health?” “How can I reduce those years of ill health?” “What should I be doing now, while I’m still in decent shape, that I’ve been putting off?”
