Description

Presented a workshop to the staff at USQ - on augmented reality using Unity3D, Android and Vuforia.

Specifics of workshop:
Dr James Birt, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Society and Design and leader of the Mixed Reality Lab at Bond University, will lead a hands-on workshop to create an augmented reality learning experience. Participants will be introduced to Unity 3D (a cross-platform game engine used for games, simulation, film, animation, and visualisation) and Vuforia Engine (a platform for creating AR experiences). In the workshop they will be able to create an Augmented Reality experience that turns an individual’s environment into a digital interface by placing virtual objects in the real world, in real-time. The workshop is a beginner entry into the world of AR and in addition to the have-a-go approach, James will provide examples of other learning experiences that he and is team have designed and researched using this technology.
