Description

Project: Virtual clinical education activities in physiotherapy - linking China and Queensland. Queensland Healthcare Professional Development Consortium.

Project Grant: AUS$20.000 ($10,000 from TIQ, $5,000 from UQ, $5,000 from BU).

This project is a Queensland Health initiative co-funded by the Queensland Government’s International Education and Training Partnership Fund, managed by Study Queensland within Trade and Investment Queensland.

The primary aims of the project were to provide an opportunity for students, academics and clinical educators of 4 physiotherapy programmes in China to experience the clinical education process at the University of Queensland (‘UQ”) and Bond University (“BU”) and introduce the structure and mechanics of the physiotherapy programmes in China to Australian universities.

The physiotherapy programmes in China involved in this program were located at Sichuan University, Kunming Medical University, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tongji University. These programmes comprise 4 of the 6 World Physiotherapy accredited physiotherapy programmes in China. Only 4 Chinese programmes could be involved due to time constraints of existent programs in Australia and China.
